1100kV-63kA Double Fracture GIS Circuit Breaker Passes Type Test

On December 23, 2010, ZF27-1100(L)/Y6300-63 type GIS dual-break UHV circuit breaker developed by China National Electrical Equipment Group Co., Ltd. successfully passed all type tests, marking the 1100kV and 63kA double-break circuit breakers. The successful completion of the development is of great significance to the development of UHV AC transmission technology in China and the construction of subsequent UHV projects. The circuit breaker was successfully developed for the successful supply of 50kA products for the demonstration project southeast of Shanxi.

The China National Electrical Equipment Group Co., Ltd. actively responded to the requirements of the National Grid for the development of larger-capacity UHV circuit breakers and took the lead in initiating the development of 1100 kV and 63 kA double-fault circuit breakers. Under the organization of the National Grid Corporation’s UHV Construction Department, China Electric Power Research Institute, West High School, and well-known domestic and foreign experts were hired several times to review and research the R&D technical solutions and test plans of China Pingdian Group’s Pinggao Group. It has overcome the technical problems of canceling the design of checking the opening resistance, 63kA large short-circuit breaking current upgrade, and increasing the TRV after adding series compensation. The technical parameters of the products have reached the international advanced level.

The circuit breaker can be applied to SF6 gas-insulated metal-enclosed combinational electrical appliances (GIS), adopts a hydraulic operating mechanism and double-break arc extinguishing technology, and has the characteristics of advanced design, high arc extinguishing technology requirements, safe and reliable performance, and flexible installation arrangement.
