Acer will cut prices for ultrabooks

Acer will make price adjustments for the ultrabooks in 2012. In 2013, prices will be greatly dipping. With the resumption of the price war, the notebook market will surely see a new pattern.

Acer decided to make substantial price adjustments in order to increase sales of Superbooks and seize the market. According to Accer Chairman Jim Wong, Acer will cut the price of Superbooks by 20% in 2012, and the revised price will be in the range of 800 to 900 U.S. dollars. Adjustment will be effective at the beginning of the second quarter of 2012.

As more and more manufacturers join the ranks of Superbooks, Acer will modulate prices by around US$500 to increase competitiveness. Of course, it is impossible to see whether this move will bring better benefits to Acer's shareholders. However, price reduction is a good thing for consumers. After all, buying a superbook at a price of about RMB 5,000 is still good. If you are not in a hurry to use your friends until the end of 2013, the discount will be even greater.
