Datavized is designed to use WebVR to display data on all devices

Datavized is a data visualization platform VR startup that aims to use WebVR to display data on all devices.

Currently, Datavized needs to use geocoded data to represent the Earth displayed on all devices and use a drag-and-drop tool to convert the spreadsheet to an interactive 3D map. The software can still accept spreadsheets without geolocation data, but it is currently displayed differently on all devices.

The company is developing tools that support "tables, separator-delimited values (ie CSV, TSV, DSV files) or JSON data, copy-and-paste texts from other applications (eg Microsoft Excel (.xls, .xlsx), Google Spreadsheets, TextEdit), which supports CORS endpoints (APIs) and formats for encoding various geodata structures (GeoJSON, shapefiles)."

Datavized joined Virtualitics to find ways to use VR to present data to help people find data faster and easier. Despite this, the two companies are solving the problem in very different ways. Virtualitics focuses on very large enterprise data sets, while Datavized focuses on WebVR to make data fully accessible.

Datavized will showcase its services at the Data for Development Festival in the United Kingdom on March 21st, but if you want to test the experience, you can apply immediately on Datavized.com.

"Digitalization has been coded from the ground up to achieve optimal performance across devices. We pay equal attention to the mobile web experience so that users can seamlessly move from 2D to 3D, and doing so involves solving a series of technical challenges. These problems cannot be achieved in the game engine."
