GE 60W-LED replacement lamp will apply for the DOE L-Prize Award

[High-tech LED] US GE Lighting recently submitted a letter of intent to the US Energy Agency (DOE), mainly to show DOE that GE is equivalent to a 60W LED replacement bulb and apply for its "Bright Future Lighting Award" (L Prize). Willingness. However, GE has not yet indicated the specific time of participation.

It is understood that GE's bulb uses Cree's TrueWhite LED assembly. TrueWhite technology combines red LEDs with phosphor-excited white LEDs to achieve high-quality warm white light with incandescent color, while GE uses the same design as incandescent lamps. Steve Briggs, vice president of marketing and product management at GE, said the move was in line with consumer preferences.

At the American International Lighting Show in May, GE showed a 60W LED replacement bulb, but the company did not say whether the participating bulb is the same as the one.

It is reported that in order to be accepted by DOE, it is necessary to submit 2000 bulb samples, a commercial production plan and detailed technical specifications.
