According to the doping, the LT3756's high-side current sensing makes it suitable for boost, buck, buck-boost or SEPIC and flyback architectures. The LT3756 provides over 94% efficiency in boost mode, eliminating the need for external heat sinks. The frequency adjustment pin allows the user to set the frequency between 100kHz and 1MHz to achieve optimum efficiency while minimizing external component size and cost. Combined with a 3mm x 3mm QFN or thermally enhanced MSOP-16 package, the LT3756 offers a very small 70 watt LED driver package. The LT3756 provides True LED color from a 3,000:1 dimming range through True Color PWM dimming; the CTRL pin can be used to provide a 10:1 analog dimming range for less demanding dimming applications. Its fixed-frequency, current-mode architecture provides stable operation over a wide range of supply and output ranges. The ground reference voltage FB pin can be used as an input to achieve protection for several LEDs, making this converter a fixed voltage source.
Currently, the LT3756 is available in two versions: the standard LT3756 features an Open LED status pin, while the LT3756-1 replaces the Open LED status pin with a frequency synchronization pin.
