Human sensors open a new era for healthcare, using “non-contact†and “non-invasive†measurement techniques to measure human information, freeing patients from the pain or discomfort of previous traditional measurements. Since the Japanese university demonstrated the technology of measuring blood pressure with only a finger touch, Omron, Toyota, and Fujitsu Research Institute have developed non-inductive human sensing technology to protect the new generation of medical care.
Healthcare is about to enter a new era, as the development of technologies that are completely different from the previous ones has become active. That is the technology that uses electronic technology to measure human body information without touching the human body or suffering from pain.
The form of human body information measurement will change dramatically with the application of electronic technology. Previous measurements of human body information generally required fixing the patient's position and sticking electrodes on the body, which would cause pain or discomfort to the patient. Most readers should have had the experience of compressing blood pressure on the arm or measuring the electrocardiogram on the body. Like the author, there should be a small number of people who are nervous about using their compression straps to wrap their arms and stick their electrodes on their bodies.
Now, the development of technologies for measuring non-contact and non-invasive* human body information is rapidly becoming active (Figure 1). The subject (patient) hardly feels that the measurement is being performed, thus eliminating the psychological stress of the patient's measurement.

In the past, when measuring human body information, it was subject to "binding", "posting electrode", "oppression" and the like. Recently, technological development cases of "non-contact" and "non-invasive" have emerged. Note: Non-invasive means that it does not cause pain and pain.
For example, at the MEDICA 2012, the world's largest medical device exhibition held in Germany in November 2012, the Japanese University demonstrated the technology of measuring blood pressure with only a finger touch, which received great attention from the participants.
In March 2013, at the "77th Japan Society of Cyclic Organs Academic Conference", Toyota and Denso and Japan Medical University jointly demonstrated the technique of using the steering wheel of the car to estimate the driver's blood pressure. Toyota said, "If you drive every day, you can measure your daily blood pressure and manage it by holding the steering wheel as usual."
In addition, the Fujitsu Research Institute announced in March 2013 the development of a technique for measuring pulse in real time through facial video.
