Mr. Liang Hanfeng, Vice President of Philips Lighting Group and General Manager of China Business, attended the 2007 Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition held in Pazhou, bringing a series of innovative energy-saving products and his vision for the Chinese market.
Philips, who started as a light bulb, played a "energy-saving card" at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition.
"China's primary focus is economic development, and it is also important to pay attention to environmental protection. Energy-saving products are of great significance to developing countries." Liang Hanfeng said that Philips has focused on several major cities in China in the past. "We will go to second- and third-tier cities this year. Expand, the goal is to enter 100 second- and third-tier cities."
Due to the high price of energy-saving lamps, there is a saying that “power saving does not save moneyâ€, which affects its popularization to a certain extent. How does Philips break through this bottleneck? Liang Hanfeng explained: "The energy saving lamp has a long service life, and the saved electricity cost can make up for the price difference of the purchase cost. Philips lighting has strict requirements on product quality, and the price is higher than that of the general product. However, as the production scale expands, the unit cost of the product decreases. The price can also drop accordingly." He said that in 2010, the country will stop using incandescent lamps to switch to energy-saving lamps. The increased awareness of the government and the public's environmental protection will help Philips break through the price bottleneck.
LEDs (light-emitting diodes), known as "next-generation light sources", have become the new darling of lighting because of their higher luminous efficiency and longer life. Chen Lianghui, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a researcher at the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: "As long as one-third of the incandescent lamps are replaced by semiconductor lamps, the country can save 100 billion kWh of electricity every year, which is equivalent to the annual power generation of the Three Gorges Project. ."
Talking about LED, Liang Hanfeng said frankly that he was "very excited" and introduced the mergers and acquisitions made by Philips. He bought a high-power LED manufacturer last year, mainly producing chips for LED use, and completed the acquisition of PLI in the first quarter of this year. This is a European manufacturer of lighting equipment; in March this year, it acquired TIR, a manufacturer of LED commercial light sources in Canada. He said with confidence, "LEDs are now mainly used for commercial decoration, and we believe that they can be used for general lighting soon."
