First, the characteristics of EPS
The emergency power supply unit EPS has the following characteristics:
(1) It can be switched automatically, and it can be unattended.
(2) Strong load capacity, EPS is suitable for inductive, capacitive and comprehensive load equipment, such as fire elevators, water pumps, fans, emergency lighting equipment, etc., with strong overload capacity and impact resistance.
(3) The power supply system is static when there is power, no noise (less than 60dB).
(4) Reliable use, dual-machine hot standby mode can be used for important occasions to ensure reliable power supply in case of accidents and fires.
(5) It can be placed in the basement or power distribution room, or it can be set locally to reduce the power supply line. It has strong environmental adaptability and is suitable for various harsh environments. It has measures to prevent high and low temperature, damp heat, salt spray, dust and vibration.
(6) Long service life, fast battery charging and management capabilities.
(7) The alarm function is complete, and it can provide alarms of various conditions in time.
(8) It is faster and more convenient to switch than the emergency diesel generator set.
(9) Simple maintenance.
Second, the difference between EPS and UPS
EPS and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) have the same and different. The same point is that both have the function of continuing to supply power to the load in the event of a power system failure (interruption), both using inverter technology and pulse width modulation technology, all with batteries. The difference is mainly in the design parameters, device selection and operation mode. The specific differences are:
(1) The EPS is in standby state when the power supply system is normal, the power consumption is less than 0.1%, and the efficiency is over 92% when working. The UPS adopts the online operation mode, and also works when the power supply system is powered normally. The efficiency is only 85% to 90%, and about 10% to 15% of the electric energy is consumed.
(2) EPS only works when the power supply system is out of power. The main engine has a long service life, generally 15 to 20 years. After the UPS is turned on, it will continue to work continuously, so the service life is relatively short, generally 5 to 8 years.
(3) EPS adopts offline operation mode with low noise; UPS adopts online operation mode with high noise.
(4) UPS investment is high, about twice the EPS.
(5) EPS load adaptability, load diversity, suitable for lighting, power, wide range of use, especially for inductive loads such as motors and various mixed electrical loads. UPS mainly provides power for control systems and information equipment.
(6) EPS system has simple composition and low failure rate; UPS has complex structure, high failure rate and high maintenance cost.
(7) The EPS switching time is relatively long (≤5s); the UPS switching time is very short (≤10ms). (8) EPS can adapt to a variety of environments; UPS has higher requirements for the operating environment.
(9) EPS is mainly for the purpose of preventing accidents and ensuring personal safety; UPS aims to ensure the normal operation of control systems and information transmission.
Intelligent Power Distribution Box
Intelligent power distribution box is a new type of power distribution device, with modular structure, fashinable and attactive appearance, and high protection class. It can be used alone or combined with other devices. The products are widely used for the lighting, power and loop control in airport, hospital, school, industrial and civil buildings.
