Nvidia Launches GTX 1050 Series Graphics Card Starting at $109

With the successive release of the GTX 1080, GTX 1070, GTX 1060, and TITAN X, Nvidia's "sea-based tactics" has almost succeeded in occupying the high-end market of graphics cards. The old rival AMD is a little low-key, in the past six months only updated a high-end graphics card one by one Radeon RX 480, but cost-effective but let AMD harvest a lot of praise. Nvidia seems to have no intention of surrendering the market below $200, and today announced the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti based on the Pascal architecture.

Both new graphics cards have been announced at prices of $109 and $139 respectively. Although there is only a $30 spread, 1050 Ti uses 4GB of GDDR5 memory, and 1050 uses 2GB of GDDR5 memory. At the same time, the number of CUDA cores for 1050 Ti is 768, and the number of CUDA cores for 1050 is only 640.

In contrast, the GTX 1060 series of 6GB and 3GB versions, both in terms of performance or CUDA core number, have opened up a big gap with the GTX 1050. It is worth noting that the GTX 1050 is the first graphics card based on the Pascal architecture that does not specify VR ready, although it may have reached the latest published configuration standard from Oculus.

There are rumors that AMD will launch the Radeon RX 470 with a price of $169 in the near future, when the fierce competition below $200 will continue to intensify.

It is reported that the GTX 1050 will be officially launched on October 25, and the GTX 1050 Ti will wait until November 8.
