Across multiple electronic applications, the world's leading semiconductor supplier STMicroelectronics (STMicroelectronics, referred to as ST; NYSE: STM) has introduced a very small size LDBL20 200mA low-dropout (LDO) regulator. The new product is available in a 0.47mm x 0.47mm x 0.2mm wafer level package and is ideal for flexible devices such as wearables, portable devices and multi-connected smart cards.
The LDBL20's STSTAMPTM bumpless package breaks through the limitations of traditional flip-chip package solder bump diameters for I/O area and height minimum size, resulting in an unprecedented level of package size. The LDBL20 is a new addition to ST's family of compact low-dropout regulators, including a 0.69mm x 0.69mm wafer-level package from 2mm x 2mm DFN to 300mA output current.
In addition to the size advantage, the LDBL20 also performs very well. The 200mA output current makes it comparable to other manufacturers' larger products. The output voltage ranges from 1.5V to 5.5V with a typical voltage drop of 200mV. The 100Hz and 100kHz supply voltage rejection ratios (PSRR) are 80dB and 50dB, respectively, simplifying the design of wideband filter circuits and providing a stable voltage rail for low-power circuits in battery-powered devices. The no-load quiescent current is 20μA, the full load quiescent current is 100μA, and the standby is 0.3μA, which helps to maximize energy efficiency under various operating conditions.
This series offers an output voltage of 0.8V to 5.0V on demand, in increments of 50mV. The LDBL20's internal functions are very rich, including logic control electronic shutdown, internal soft start, and active output voltage discharge if needed.
The LDBL20 evaluation board STEVAL-ISB034V1 is launched simultaneously with new products, helping the LDBL20 to be designed into a wide range of products, including fitness monitors, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, hearing aids, wearable sensors, smart earphones, portable audio devices, and smart sockets. , smart watches and smart cards.
The LDBL20 is now in volume production.
