The joint research team at the University of Tokyo in Japan and John Kepler University in Austria recently announced that they have developed the world's thinnest and lightest organic light-emitting diode (O LED ), which can be bent at will and is only 2 microns thick.
According to a website such as the Japan News Agency, the research team successfully produced an organic light-emitting diode with a total thickness of 2 μm and a weight of only 3 g per square meter on an ultra-thin PET plastic film with a thickness of only 1.4 μm. It has good flexibility and does not affect its energization performance.
The research team has also successfully developed ultra-thin organic solar cells and organic transistor integrated electronic circuits composed of carbon molecular materials using ultra-thin polymer films. The new technology invention can integrate components such as organic light-emitting diodes, organic solar cells and organic transistors on the same polymer film, which is lighter and thinner than the previous similar electronic devices.
