Dead guys Snapchat! Facebook launches new social software that only serves young people under the age of 21.

Faced with the threat of Snapchat's huge influence among young users, Facebook recently launched a brand new social media software called Lifestage to demonstrate its ability to attract younger generations. This software is only for users 21 years of age and under.

As a stand-alone software, Lifestage users can upload selfies or videos, describe what they like or dislike, create a friend list, and more. Like Snapchat, this new application focuses on video content created by young users, hoping to attract the attention of young users.

Lifestage can help middle school students better understand their classmates. Teen users can express themselves by making some videos, and they can see the videos that students make and publish to create their own list of friends and personal information.

Interestingly, the person who designs Lifestage is also a teenager. It was designed by Michael Sayman, a 19-year-old Facebook product manager. In keeping with Facebook’s original goal when it was first established, Lifestage is also designed to enable students who are enrolled on the same campus to build relationships. As long as 20 students fill out the name of a certain school at the time of registration, Lifestage will open it to the school.

In addition, Lifestage does not provide the ability to send messages and direct communications. Sayman pointed out that this is because there are already a lot of communication software on the market, so there is no need for Lifestage to perform similar functions.

Constine, a reporter from TechCrunch, believes that the purpose of Facebook's release of Lifestage is not whether the application itself can succeed, but the main purpose is to accumulate experience and learn how to integrate the video into the user's own Facebook profile.

Currently, Lifestage only supports use on the IOS platform.
