As China's speed has been at its best, the domestic machine tool market has rapidly expanded to the point where it has become the world’s largest consumer, the largest producer, and the largest importer.
From 2009 to 2016, the national science and technology major projects of "High-end CNC Machine Tools and Basic Manufacturing Equipment" were implemented, 562 projects were arranged, and the central government invested 9.114 billion yuan; cumulatively applied for 3956 invention patents, and established country and industry standards 407 The project has researched and developed 2951 new products and new technologies, and added an additional output of approximately 70.6 billion yuan. The high-end numerical control system breaks the monopoly of foreign technology, and the key functional components achieve batch support. The domestic market share has increased from less than 1% to about 5%. The high-end CNC machine tools represented by five-axis machining centers are used for batch demonstration applications in areas such as aircraft typical structural parts, space complex and precision structural parts, and components of flying missile engines, and are used in large aircrafts, new-type fighter aircrafts, lunar exploration projects and other countries. Major special projects and key projects have provided key manufacturing equipment; the performance of heavy forging equipment is close to the international advanced level, and the precision horizontal machining center has formed the core technology of flexible manufacturing systems with independent intellectual property rights. The achievement is not insignificant, but it seems that it is still difficult to change the weak position of the domestic machine tool industry under the pattern of global open competition.
First, the insignificant monster.
According to the data from the China Machine Tool Industry Association, as of November 2016, the machine tool industry had a total of 5,752 enterprises above designated size. If you add those uncountable small and micro enterprises, the number of companies in the domestic machine tool industry is undoubtedly the first in the world. But this is not enough to make it constitute a complete and sound industrial chain. High-end cutting tools basically depend on imports. Automated measuring instruments are basically monopolized by foreign companies. Functional components have a huge gap with foreign manufacturers both in terms of quality and quantity. The total output of rolling components in the country is not as good as that of a Taiwanese enterprise. The machine tool spindles are used for high speed, high precision, and high precision. Loaded precision, super-precision bearings are almost blank.
Second, strong demand failed to promote energy levels.
The development of the foreign automobile industry without exception has led to the technological progress and industrial development of the domestic machine tool industry. The rapid development of the Chinese auto industry has benefited the related industries in industrialized countries.
Third, industry upgrading can not keep up with changes in demand.
With the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, the current market demand for low-end products in the machine tool industry is declining, and demand for high-end products is becoming mainstream.
Statistics show that: In October 2017, China imported 5,870 sets of metal processing machine tools, an increase of 29.9% year-on-year; import value was US$630 million, an increase of 43.1% year-on-year. From January to October of 2017, the import volume of China's metal processing machine tools was 72,695 units, an increase of 24.8% year-on-year; the import value was US$7.14 billion, an increase of 13.1 percentage points year-on-year.
From January to November of 2017, a total of 314 machine tools were imported from Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, with a value of USD 22.01 million, an increase of 193% and 140% respectively over the same period of 2016. Imported machine tools are mainly machining centers, grinders, and laser cutting machine tools manufactured in Italy, Japan, Germany, and South Korea. It is reported that the large gap between the precision and durability of domestic CNC machine tools and the world's advanced level is the main reason for the sharp increase in the number of imported machine tools in Shaoxing.
Fourth, path selection is a prerequisite.
In view of the characteristics of multi-species, single-piece, small-batch, and batch-oriented production in the machine tool industry, foreign strong machine tools and tools companies are taking the “professional, new, refined, and strong†development model. The different accidents of Shenyang Machine Tool and Jinan Second Machine Tool, both of which are state-owned enterprises, show the decisive role of path selection.
